Why use Vinyl?
Vinyl flooring has become a very popular choice lately and it is easy to see why. Its benefits are practicality, durability, maintenance & the shear variety of finishes and effects which are available. There are a number of things to take into consideration when ordering your vinyl but we as experts can work out all the details to make sure that you get it right. Like our carpets we also offer a full fitting service.
Vinyl comes in many different grades which will all depend on the amount of traffic, the use or application. Vinyl can also be used for commercial applications utilising materials like altro & polyfloor for truly slip resistant flooring, we also have the Karndean Range which is a superior vinyl that gives you the illusion of actual wood or tiled flooring.
The Different Types of Vinyl
Vinyl flooring comes in two formats: sheet and tile. Both vinyl sheet and vinyl tile are made from the same material; they differ in size, how they are prepared and packaged and the way they are installed. Vinyl tile continues to be easier to install and repair than vinyl sheet, but new developments in vinyl sheet installation are closing the gap. Installation and repair should not influence your choice of sheet or tile.
When choosing between sheet or tile formats, the most important issue is the look of the floor. If you prefer a highly patterned design, vinyl sheet may be a better choice. For a checkerboard pattern, vinyl tile may be perfect. McCarter Carpets flooring experts can guide you in these decisions.
